The Metro Water District, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, local governments and utilities and numerous stakeholders all play important roles in developing and implementing the District’s water resource management strategies. Members include the Governing Board, Executive, Technical Coordinating Committee, Basin Advisory Councils, Finance and Legislative Committees.

Basin Advisory Councils
Basin Advisory Councils offer guidance in the development and implementation of policy-related and basin-specific issues. They provide input on plan content to the Governing Board, Technical Coordinating Committee and Metro Water District staff. The Basin Advisory Councils are comprised of a diverse membership of basin stakeholders including water professionals, business leaders, environmental advocates and other interested individuals and groups.
Basin Advisory Councils represent each of the major river basins within the region and Lake Lanier.
